Go away GUSTAV!
Well in little less than 42 hours till I’m on my way to New Orleans for Southern Decadence, I’m getting kinda apprehensive about Gustav in the Caribbean. I have been looking forward to this trip for going on three months now. This is my first one and I’m so excited. We are staying at the Omni New Orleans with the Decadent Ducks. I am going to pray that this will not hit New Orleans because for one..it’s such a remarkable American city. I know that Christian radicals will say that the reason for this to happen is because of Decadence and that makes me sad for them because they have to fill themselves up with hate for them to fill better and that’s no way to live.
But anyhoo…I’m planning on going though. I talked to my friend Steve, our crusing director, and he told me “Little country girl, you just need to calm down.” I should because who knows where this storm will go. It’s still 3-5 days out. I’m going to go about my business like nothing has happened and I think that is the way it should be. Well, hope to see you all down there
Lots of love and please be careful & safe!!

I’m supposed to fly out from Los Angeles very early tomorrow (Friday) morning for New Orleans and Southern Decadence. I’m not too concerned about getting down there… and the weather will be good through monday afternoon when I fly out. But there’s all this talk about evacuations and business/hotel closures 72 hrs prior to a forecasted strike. It’s looking like we’ll get there friday and then be forced out on Saturday.
Yeah, well, we experienced all of the evacauations. I was talking to a guy on Saturday and he said that he couldn’t get a flight out of NOLA so he had to go to Mississippi and fly out of Mississippi. I hope next year will be better!
